I loved seeing the Pixies at the V Festival in 2007. I also loved turning up late at the Northcote Social Club a few days earlier to listen to them play a warm up show from the street. I only kind've't loved watching the band's loudQUIETloud documentary, which covers their 2006 reunion and subsequent tour. Fascinating to watch the tentative inner-workings of the quiet-natured band but depressing also. At the clinical, boring way the band set about gluing themselves together again for a dollar. I loved the aural version, less so the workmanlike reality.

Nonetheless, the Pixies just keep adding Australian dates to their current Doolittle tour and they keep on selling out. Here's shots from the Horden Pavilion in Sydney
