Thousands of people gathered outside the Tote Hotel in Collingwood, Melbourne, yesterday to protest against the closure of the venue. We were there to take it in.

Stay tuned for our diary documenting the last five days of the Tote; stretching from nominee Bruce Milne's announcement on Thursday 14th to today's hastily arranged "last drinks", which will see 25 bands take the stage over the course of the day.

We'll be tweeting live from today's event - at twitter.com/TheVineonline - as well as reviewing the show. The lineup will feature, in no particular order:

Hoss
Legends Of Motorsport
The Drones
Dave Graney & The Lurid Yellow Mist
Dynamo
Deaf Wish
Guttersnipes

Dan Kelly's Dream Band
