Originally published on this day in 2011, we felt it a perfect time to revisit one of our favourite galleries.

It happens every year. With Splendour in the Grass just days away, a veritable avalanche of festival announcements have been spilling into our inboxes this past week.  It makes us both apprehensive and excited: the former imagining the forthcoming onslaught of sunburn, dirt and dollar-removing; the latter the thrill of looking forward to the inevitable fun of seeing bands and artists from all corners of the globe amass in Australia over summer. Not to mention take in the sights as punters of all sorts come out to play.

So it is every year that we're going through a bunch of photos taken at many of the fine events that litter our land, and there's always one or two that stop us in our tracks. Be they images of revelers engaged in some sort of illegal activity, caught in the moment, caught in the "fashion of the time" or caught a bit under the influence, the camera never lies. So with the sniff of summer festival time in the air, here's a gallery of just a few of the oddball/questionable/graceful punters we — and you — catch at at festivals around Australia.
