Rumours are swirling that the weekend's Splendour in the Grass headliners Wolfmother are on the verge of, if not splitting, then discussing a line up change.
It's no secret that tensions between the rhythm section Myles Heskett and Chris Ross and singer Andrew Stockdale have caused friction in the band before. After a no-show to a radio interview with Triple J at the weekend's festival, Wolfmother's management issued
this statement according to the station:
"The band is dealing with some internal issues at the moment.
They’re hoping to resolve them in the next few weeks but in the
meantime it just wouldn’t be appropriate for any member to be doing any
interviews – even with triple j.”
Other news outlets are suggesting that the band may continue but with a revised line-up, or that Sunday nights performance may have even been their last, at least under the Wolfmother name. We noticed as the crowd crushed themselves into the dance field to see label mates The Presets that the usually bulging Supertop wasn't full for Wolfmother. An unusual sight for the band in unusual times.
