Although it’s officially spring, winter’s beloved ankle boot is still going strong in our hearts and on our feet. Lucky for us retailers and designers are listening to our pleas. We don’t want the ankle boot, particularly the comfy wedge, to ever go out of style. Yes the prim and polished kitten heels that are sneaking their way into future seasons are very cute, but a big wedge heel can get a girl by, rail, hail or shine and without the worry of avoiding cracks in the sidewalk.

At the very top of our bootie wish list are these Acne Hybria Lea ankle boots. Like a work of art for your feet, these sculptured pretties have a mohawk inspired center back seam and a big chuck of the wedge cut out. They’re pretty much the naughty shoe equavalient of swinging on your chair at school so just becareful not to lean back too far.

Keeping to a surreal and architectural feel are these United Nude black double booties. The geometric externalized block heel adds a modern slant on an otherwise classic and sleek design. We love them because as much as they appear futuristic, they’re likely not to date like other styles.

Alexander Wang is another designer giving much love to the bootie, and his latest offering has a significant nineties flavour. If you can’t bring yourself to wear the really chucky block heel, these Heidi pointed boots are a sleek nineties option. Or if your looking to avoid black for summer these Devon Graphic ankle sandals are an ideal light sand colour. The boot combines delicious textures such as embossed lizard and suede with and innovative structure and have a really flattering curve around the ankle.

Opening Ceremony is another label that has also produced lust worthy shoes and these charm booties are no exception. The ankle boot style works perfectly with the current military trends or as a statement shoe to add spunk to a feminine outfit thanks to its buckles, chains and studs. Coming in a delicious looking chocolate suede, the boots have a grid outline on the heel that suspiciously resembles a bar of chocolate. Belle by Sigerson Morrison’s tapered toe boots comprise of a sleeker style of hard wear with a bold buckles and silver studs.

Another laced up style that follows along the same hardwear line are these incredibly high Givenchy Fanta denim boots. For a more feminine and dainty look, Camilla Skovgaard Saddle lace-up python sandals bring a bit of sex appeal to your toes.

More money friendly options are these Alain buckle wedges from the beloved Pixie Market. Nasty Gal’s Riley Ruched wedge are another affordable pair of boots the look equally as sleek as the more expensive styles.
