Opening Ceremony
will celebrate the Games with a 'shop-in-shop' with limited edition
items and exclusive Nike Sportswear products. The opening night of the
games will be held on 8.8.08 and Opening Ceremony will kick-off the
festivities with an event that will continue for 72 hours, remaining
open for business with shopping, games, food and sporting activities.
The
Air Max 1 will be available in very limited quantities in gold and
silver metallic, and will be stocked solely at Opening Ceremony along
with a super-limited number of the Nike LunaRacer sneakers.
Additionally, Opening Ceremony will offer the NSW Collection, Nike
Sportswear's pinnacle apparel line, which includes hoodies and
sweatshirts produced in partnership with Loopwheeler.
The store
will remain open for the entirety of the weekend of the Olympics and is
a unique concept that has not been executed by any other retailer.
During this time, customers are invited to come and watch the Olympic
games, shop Souvenir, as well as participate in specially scheduled
events such as "3am Scrabble Hour" or "7 am Breakfast for Champions."
Opening
Ceremony was founded in September of 2002 in New York by Carol Lim and
Humberto Leon with the idea of bringing their love of travel and
fashion to a single concept boutique. The company, besides its two
retail outlets, has also developed its own ready to wear collection for
men and women as well as a footwear line and apothecary division.
