Emilio Pucci is the designer renowned for eyebogglingly bright designs that defined the 1960s. If you love his version of psychedelic fashion, there's a new limited edition book out covering the last 60 years of the label.

The book features hundreds of photos, sketches by the designer himself, interviews with those who knew him and candid images of the great man at work.

Written by Vanessa Friedman, the fashion editor of The Financial Times, each of the XL versions is bound in a different piece of real Pucci fabric from recent collections.

In the '50s when Pucci began, his ideas were visionary. Not only did he approach colour and pattern in a unique way for the times, he got women into flowing clothes and light fabrics, constantly experimented with knit and printing technologies and was one of the first houses to understand the importance of a logo.

Original Pucci pieces are highly collectable, and the house still flourishes. Bargain website TheOutnet is a great source for their newer pieces on the off season.

The real gem and collectors piece is the vintage art edition. An edition of 500 is bound in original vintage Pucci fabrics from the house’s archives, packaged in a transparent acrylic box, accompanied by four art prints of original drawings by Emilio.

Pucci by Vanessa Friedman, XL 150 euros, Vintage Art Edition 600 euros.
