Expect the range of shoes, all made in the Barbie pink (Pantone 219 Pink), to make their runway debut at the Mattel Inc show during next year's NY Fashion Week, assumably to celebrate 50 years of the original plastic fantastic celebrity. Also set to show their Barbie-inspired wares are 50 as-yet-unnamed designers. Way to create more than a little birthday ho-ha.
"I guess I always had a little 'girlie side' who liked Barbie," Louboutin told WWD. "Barbie needs to wear great shoes because every girl needs to wear great shoes."
