Wednesday night saw pure elegance hit the runway for L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival. Designers Jayson Brunsdon, Anna Thomas, Aurelio Costrella, Gwendolynne, Lisa Ho, Megan Park, Nevenka and Thurley sent out a small sample of their winter collections as enthusiastic fashion types looked on.

The key trend of the night was classic glamour; seems we just can't shake that 50's siren influence that's lingered now for more than two winters. Black, white, silver and gold still rules the runway, with accent hues of purple and orange, while an ode to graphic prints keeps the look interesting. The good news is all it takes is a ream of feathers to update last year's winter staples.

Runway 3 was presented by Madison and as such showcased the more conservative and sophisticated end of the fashion spectrum - for something more cutting edge check out the shots from Runway 2 featuring the likes of Ant!podium, ELLERY, Dion Lee and Arnsdorf.
