Adelaide born pop kid Sia Furler has posted six tracks from her forthcoming album We Are Born online.

The last time Sia Furler was in the country she performed at the Meredith Festival. Sia was a divisive character on the day, but Andrew Crook had the wherewithal to mention "a trio of new songs including 'Clap Your Hands' sounding like Top 10 pop smash in the making." Judging from this collection he's not wrong.

This is pure, slick pop. Every move and mix seems to be moulded towards maximum airplay, across maxium demographic. Which sounds kind've nauseating on paper, but when it's done right - Michael Jackson - it's world-beating. Furler makes a fair stab at it, already inhabiting this pop orbit: she's pals with Beck, hit paydirt with her single 'Breathe Me' being used over the final scene of Six Feet Under, recorded We Are Born with Greg Kurstin, who's credits include Lily Allen and Britney, and lately she's been co-writing with Christina Aguilera. Despite all the hangers/hanging-on, Furler claims this record is a personal affair: 'We Are Born' is the album I've made when I've been hanging out with myself."

Here we get rubbery dancefloor bounce of 'The Fight', the kiddy-pop of 'Bring Night', the down-tempo 'I'm In Here', the the wobbly electro-rock of 'Clap Your Hands', 'Big Girl Little Girl' and 'You've Changed'. On first listen, the 'wacky production effects of the early 2000s' knob appears to be broken in the 'On' position, but if slick, polished pop is your thing, it's here in spades. If not, you're probably going to end up dancing to some of these in a club somewhere regardless. Prepare.
