Chopper arrested

Mark "Chopper" Read - one of Australia's most famous criminal figures - was arrested by Melbourne detectives yesterday.
Police arrived at Read's Collingwood home to question him about an alleged incident involving a firearm.
Read was arrested without a struggle and taken to a police station where he was formally interviewed for about an hour.
He was later released without charge.
Read's lawyer, Bernie Balmer, told AAP his client "strenuously denied all the allegations".
The incident he was questioned over was an alleged aggravated burglary in early August.
"The allegation is that he went around to a property, there was an argument, I understand there were (alleged) threats,'' Mr Balmer said.
He said police alleged Read went to the property with a second person.
Mr Balmer said Read was fairly well-known, and he questioned why he wasn't arrested earlier if the incident had indeed occurred.
"If it had occurred they would have plucked him straight away,'' he said.
Mr Balmer said Read was fine, but slightly bewildered by the morning's events.
The convicted killer and former feared standover man turned painter, public speaker and charity worker boasts of killing 19 people - and bashing, axing, shooting and stabbing "human filth".
