Eddy Current Supression Ring - 'That Time of Day'
Melbourne garage rock heroes (and ARIA award nominees)
Eddy Current Supression Ring have a new limited edition 7" on its way. Here's precisely what it will sound like.
'That Time of Day' was recorded for last year's
Primary Colours LP but didn't make the cut as it turns out. Perhaps because this track bubbles along rather than burns.
The ludicrously raw recording has Eddy Current at their surfiest; Mikey Young even managing to squeezing in a few Dick Dale-esque fret runs in between changes. While the rhythm section powers along - as ever - Brendan Supression convincingly spits his largely nonsensical lyrics before releasing with "You gimme time, that time of day, in a special way". Fun.
The flipside to this A-side is 'Noise in My Head', the theme song they penned for the Triple R radio show of the same. Keeping it in the community. The 7" is limited to just 1000 copies (a handsome run for most Oz independent bands but a drop in the bucket for ECSR) and will be released next week through
Nervous Jerk.
