I haven't heard a great deal from beardy Melbourne beats duo Milo and Morgan aka The Emergency. It's refreshing to hear a gloomier, dead-pan take on this drum machine vs psychedelia trip we're on right now and The Emergency do it to a crisp black tee. Not to mention with a welcome absence of white belts, preening and porn mo's. You could argue that it's the rare form of dance music that's enjoyable on an inward-looking cerebral level as much as it is under the lights of the dancefloor. The dirty after-hours antithesis to the vacuous more polished proponents of the genre.

'Forever' is from their new 'Too Much/Forever' 12" and comes complete with old school video that suits the wandering, almost creepy, disconnect of the tune perfectly. It's out on Metal Postcard and Exo Records now, and while the duo are working on an album as we speak, a Melbourne launch is slated for October 3rd at The Toff in Melbourne.

One way or another, I'm glad it's over! Although, I did put $20 on China actually acheiving democracy before this album was released, down at the TAB. Looks like I'm out an orange note.
