Radiohead are still plugging that
free "pay what you like" album of last year
In Rainbows. We already had the film clip for 'House of Cards' shot entirely with
lasers, this one's a little more organic .
In early September the band sent out a call asking the public to remix
In Rainbows track 'Reckoner', following on from the success of the 'Nude' remix competition. Which of course saw an
amazing video using nothing but outdated office technology. In early September the band made 'Reckoner's individual tracks available for download.
Alongside this comp was the Aniboom animation contest; the finalists of which we
featured back in July. In August not one but four winners were chosen by the band to receive a prize package of $10,000 each to finish their clips.
Mr. Yorke has gone one step further today and outed his true favourite of the bunch. He writes - poorly - on the Radiohead
website:
hellomy mind is not functioning at the correct speed at the moment thanks to being in Tokyobut however and hereis one of my favourite video things that has ever happenedfor Reckoner it is, the result of somebody entering a competition to make an animation to one of the tunes on IN RAINbows.on aniboom. you can scroll down dead air space and find all about it.. but anywayso we asked them whether it was ok to make it the official one we use as it goes with the song so well. they said yes.and
if you're like me and find it hard to find videos on televsion any
more, or even turn on the television you can watch right here.ok now im going to fold some clothes.

Here's the winning clip - and thus official video - created by French artist Clement Picon. Not my favourite of the potential candidates but captivating nontheless.
