Tucker Bs - 'Jungle'
We told you about the Tucker Bs impending Bourke Reid (Gerling, The Drones, The Mess Hall) produced fifth (!) album already. Titled
Nightmares in the key of ((((((WOW))))))), here's a taste of what it actually sounds like.
There's an abundance of confused faces at Tucker Bs shows. The hardcore kids don't get the pop. The pop kids don't get the men with beards screaming. The indie kids don't like either of them. But make it past initial presumptions and the Tuckers create a world where creepiness, humour, truth, love and general awesomeness collide in ways many of their peers couldn't fathom.
New track 'Jungle' is no exception. As the press release states, it's a coming of age tune:
JUNGLE', is about being reliable and trustworthy. The Tucker B's are increasingly finding themselves in positions that require such qualities.Just when you expect there to be a Mogwai-esque crescendo of towering noise, along comes a synth solo more befitting ELO than any "hard" guys. Singer Matt Rudas' lyrics oscillate between being genuinely creepy and lovelorn, and it's all presented in a way that only men in stockings, beards, and lasers on the foreheads can rightly express.
Go see 'em.
