This has been out for a little while now, but with the flogging Seattle folk outfit Fleet Foxes have been getting on Australian radio it seems worth revisiting.

The video to their first single - and perhaps best song - 'White Winter Hymnal' off their self-titled debut album on Sub Pop, sees the band in claymation form. The members begin old and work tirelessly to turn back time, only to return to the old men they once were. Not a bad parallel to the band that are currently enjoying a fresh legion of fans via their modern revival of old timey American folk music.

Though it doesn't feature of the packhorse with "scarves of red tied round their throats" or the tragic hints of turning of the"white snow red like strawberries in the summertime" described in the songs lyrics, it does seem indelibly linked with the bands ethos. Perhaps because it was directed by Sean Pecknold, brother of band member Robin Pecknold. Anyway, it's great.

Watch the clip now on TheVineTV.

And if you wondered if they could pull off those harmonies live, check out this clip.
