Melbourne record label Mistletone put on a mini-festival in the bowels of an icy Melbourne winter last weekend.

Despite some controversies - ticketing, technical and ventilation issues - the gig saw around 800 people pack in to the three rooms of Roxanne Parlour in the CBD. Desktop pop extremist Qua -  joined by a percussionist - was a bright hearted highlight, as were fiery locals Actor/Model.

US band Beach House drew the largest crowd of the night and, while their woozy, moody pop was captivating for the most part, they were a little diluted by the size of the crowd and its ensuing temperature. (Worth checking out tonight at the Toff in Town if you can get your hands on tickets.)

Elsewhere Kes Band, Love of Diagrams, Talkshow Boy and NZ solo artist Bachelorette - flanked by two flickering PC screens on podiums - put in solid performances.
