Two weeks ago in a warehouse down the back end of an industrial zoned Marrickville St, a party celebrating the launch of the Super 8 Diaries was held. Sausages were cooked, couches were aligned and of course bands played.
Ranging from the tightly wound propulsion of Wollongong's Ohana, to the unhinged confusion of the Tucker Bs, to the beautiful oddity of a warehouse full of hippies and hipsters alike swaying to the laptop (tabletop?) wizardry of Qua. Despite
rumours that record company execs would be in attendance to scope out the latest "talent", it was an enlightening, fun and establishment-free, day.
Pictures speak louder than words of course, which is why...you should check out the
film. And have a look at three bands from the day: Lola Flash, Charge Group and the Tucker Bs.
