When the Polyphonic Spree come to town you know you'll at least get one thing: good photos.

The Texan ensemble led by vigorous frontman Tim DeLaughter were slightly slimmed down for this visit - a measly 17 people on stage this time rather than the usual 20+. Sponsors Southern Comfort saw fit to laden the crowd with glowing writsbands, burlesque masks, headdresses and whatnot for the night, which led to a sea of bright feathers atop heads facing a band who've never been shy about creating a carnival atmosphere. While the drink's logos prominent position either side of the stage might be an affront to the unsuspecting punter, as DeLaughter would later say, without the drink's monetary backing the band would never be able to afford to fly to Australia. Nor, one suspects, afford SHOOTING CANNONS OF CONFETTI AND RAINING BALLOONS.
