We dip into the northern summer gig scene once again to see who's doing the rounds.

Upstarts MGMT in Italy and Black Kids playing an instore in London. UK songbird Bat For Lashes supporting Radiohead at an outdoor gig in Amsterdam. The Hives doing what they do best in Kent, England. And resurrected 80s kings Duran Duran live in concert in Birmingham UK.

I think I may also be tiring of Jeremy Greenspan's kind of 'wet' vocal style.... Granted, there are some real moments here though.

Hmm, I hear what you're saying. But I kind of feel that they give the record a sort of (daggy) charm. Mind you, without its bookends ('Detroit' and 'Lullaby') it would be a much, much lesser album...

Good review, Dan. But something about this record just doesn't click for me. I think it's the key changes and little scale twists. Seriously. They interfere...
