In the second clip from the The Jezabels'
Prisoner LP, 'Trycolour' sees the band move on from the
western-gothic pastiche of 'Endless Summer' and into more familiar territory: darkness.
A stylised live performance clip for the most part, 'Trycolour' also features water reflections, spinning quartz stones and singer Hayley Mary stalking her own shadow in skin-tight leather. But if you just want to go to the camera-trick section where they get splashed with oil in slo-motion and man-spin in the air a la 'Street Spirit', start halfway perhaps.
Also worth a look is this tense, noir-ish short film made by Jezabels drummer Nik Kaloper, concerning one man's tumultuous — and ultimately devastating — relationship with his pastry. It's called
PAIN.
And if you're wondering if they all wear black whilst eating junk food on tour in the UK, just as much as they do on stage, yes:
The band are just about to wrap up a sold out tour of Australia with shows in Adelaide and Perth this weekend, before heading off on a stupidly busy tour of North America (where they've already sold out shows in New York and Canada, FYI). They'l then return to play Homebake, Falls and the Big Day Out. Busy.
