Gotye and Kimbra took their big ol' break-up song to the U.S yesterday, via the rather large platform of Jimmy Kimmel Live. Shot on location in L.A, the show beams to about 1.7 million viewers. Meaning the song is being pitched directly into the hearts of people just like this YouTube commenter:

I'm a 47 yr old woman and never watch mtv and hate pop music and american idol? Please......................I heard it once flipping on a new age station and instantly was hooked.

When news filtered through at the end of Fleet Foxes recent tour that Joshua Tillman was leaving the group, it wasn't the greatest surprise. The drummer has been a solo artist a lot longer than drummer for the Seattle folk-stars, having released seven solo albums since 2005. And you know what? With songs like this — under his new moniker of Father John Misty — it's no wonder why he finally handed in his beard badge. 'Hollywood Forever Cemetary Sings' is more affecting than anything on Fleet Foxes latest. There. Parks and Recreation star Aubrey Plaza probably thinks so too, appearing here in khol-eyed, bloodied demon-girl mode.

Tillman's debut as Father John Misty is called Fear Fun, and is due for release on April 30.

Prior to playing 'These Days' at their first date of two stadium shows in Melbourne last year, Dave Grohl told the crowd to not be surprised if they see themselves on camera soon. "We're shooting a video." He was right. The parachute sail-like rims of both AAMI Park and Homebush Stadium feature heavily in the new clip for the Foo Fighters, shot entirely in Australia and New Zealand on their recent tour. Shame the video is more exciting than the audio.
