Animal Collective have just released the clip for 'Brothersport,' the third single to be taken from
Merriweather Post Pavilion. Careful now, things get wild.
Two small primitive pagan children -- or at least children dressed that way -- flee to a small shack. In which they fingerpaint, shake their rumps and go wild with eggs. There are also some hicks. A large pooch. Plus intercut animation. The synopsis, you see, is pretty much redundant. This is no narrative thriller. Psychedelia is much better experienced than broken down and spoken about...

Elsewhere on the internet, you can get cozy with Vampire Weekend. The band recorded a set for MTV's Unplugged show. The channel have graciously put the
entire set up online, so you can watch acoustic renditions of all your old and new favourites from their debut and
Contra. Chamber ensemble of strings and woodwinds included. Tasteful.
Vampire Weekend - 'Oxford Comma'
This past weekend marked what would have been the 75th birthday of Elvis. In his inimitable earnest goofball style, Lightspeed Champion celebrated the fact by recording a cover of "Devil in Disguise". Then he took to the streets of LA and recorded a lo-fi clip in a sparkling gold suit. Watch people get confused by the sight of a shock-haired black man copping Elvis' moves on Sunset Boulevard at sunset. (You can thrash it out in the comments box, discussing whether Elvis himself copped all his moves from black performers at the time and, thus, we come full circle at a time in which race, post-Obama............. etc)
