LA quartet
Warpaint are still getting a lot of mileage out of their brief catalogue.
Whilst their (excellent) debut LP
The Fool was released in late 2010 (of which
TheVine said was, "a slow burn in every sense, all shimmering melodies, slinking rhythms, and campfire harmonies,") the band's EP of the previous year,
Exquisite Corpse, was actually recorded in 2007. Since then the group have been touring incessantly around the globe, and it's easy to now see the fruit of their labours. Videos like this series — from when the band went into their UK HQ Rough Trade recently, to record an arty mini-set for the cameras — are a pretty great reminder of the beguiling, fluid unit they've settled into. Also, I could watch bands in the studio for days.
Days.
'Billie Holiday' and 'Burgundy' are taken from the
Exquisite Corpse EP, 'Composure' and 'Majesty' are from
The Fool. All are great, and all will be bundled together in the new "deluxe" reissue of
The Fool, which includes the EP, as well as bonunus tracks 'Shadows' (The Neon Lights Remix) and 'Billie Holiday' (Steve Mackey Radio Edit).
Love a good radio edit. Watch:
