You might remember the Tucker Bs from wearing stockings on stage, pissing off a nation of Wolfmother fans or performing "powerful", yet "emotive" rock. Well they're back.
The Sydney quartet now have a member living back in Perth, but it doesn't seem to be slowing them down. The band recently finished work on their new album, their fifth. What's more it was recorded by the famed Burke Reid at Big Jesus Burger studios in Sydney, a combination you might've noticed propelled The Drones Havilah into AMP Award nominee territory this year, not to mention The Mess Hall over the winner's tape the year before for Devil's Elbow. Could the Tucker Bs be in line for a 2009 nomination? Not if they can help it.
To be subtly titled Nightmares in the key of ((((((WOW))))))), the band are heading to Melbourne to celebrate its impending release. They're doing this by launching a limited edition CASSINGLE at these shows only. The cassette will feature two songs.
Writes the menchildren:
The first songy 'BEAR', is about developing the habits of a dummy and slowly ruining relationships and quickly (ZAP) turning into a bear.
The second songy 'JUNGLE', is about being reliable and trustworthy. The Tucker B's are increasingly finding themselves in positions that require such qualities.
