The sun is peeking out, the temperatures are rising, and thoughts turn to… touring. We're bunching up on the shows because they’re getting announced at a rate of knots, everything from Meiko tomorrow night to King Khan extracting sweat from crowds over the new year. Scan to the bottom for full dates.
First artist first, pretty little pop folk singer from Los Angeles, Meiko, is currently in Australia. She’s zipping around some capitals, playing Melbourne tonight and Sydney on Wednesday with Matt Nathanson, and the One Movement for Music festival in Perth on Sunday. Her 2007 debut topped the iTunes folk charts.
Also buzzing around the country, Byron new wave indie rockers Polaroid Fame are celebrating their jaunty debut album We Live Your Life. Six shows across Queensland and New South Wales still remain.
Soulful Scot Paolo Nutini brings his impossibly smooth sounds to Melbourne and Sydney on a world tour. He’ll be straight off two sold out shows in his hometown, then heads off on a huge Euro tour.
Our favourites and yours, Midnight Juggernauts, are heading off on a national tour with New Zealand’s Cut Off Your Hands late October and through November to recreate their latest album This New Technology live.
Angie Hart is less than two weeks away from releasing her second solo album Eat My Shadow and she also has plans to run up and down the East Coast, even as far down as Tasmania, in November.
No surprises that due to an overwhelming demand for tickets to Animal Collective’s side show in Melbourne, they’ve announced a second. They’ll be playing with New Zealand’s Bachelorette on December 15 at the Prince Bandroom. Tickets go on sale Wednesday.
Canadian/German garage soul crazies King Khan & The Shrines have announced a long-awaited tour for first thing next year. Their live show is legendary, so book yourself in for this one in Melbourne and Sydney, and a Falls, Sunset Sounds and Southbound. Tickets on sale this Friday.
