Tour news - Father John Misty, Cat Power, Converge, Jens Lekman, Paul Kelly & Neil Finn, Sabbath
Who's saying what
Australian summer tour tsunami alert:
You might not guess it from the plaintive Americana-pop of his record earlier this year, Fear Fun, but ex-Fleet Fox Father John Misty was one of the clear highlights of the 2012 Splendour in the Grass festival. We wrote then:
What on record conjures visions of a polite, insular performance is on stage transformed into some snake-hipped, finger-snapping rock(-lite - in a good way) show from J Tillman and band. The thing glues together thanks to Tillman's ever-slippery lyrics and gorgeous voice, one he's not afraid to get ragged on sublime closer 'Hollywood Forever Cemetery Sings', which ends in a hail of distortion. Also the festivals first on stage sighting of galaxy tights.
All true.

Correction: This article originally stated that Ronnie James Dio was a founding member of Black Sabbath. This is incorrect. Dio replaced Ozzy Osbourne as frontman from 1979 - 82, returning again from 91 - 92. He passed away in 2010.
