The xx announce Australian tour

Having first visited local shores as part of Laneway Festival back in 2010, Jamie Smith, Romy Madley Croft and Oliver Sim were most recently in the country in July for a pair of balloted pre-album release performances that sold out in a matter of minutes.

TheVine music editor Marcus Teague went along to the Melbourne show, noting that the band had “come a long way since their first visit to Australia in 2010 … But in blowing up their frame they've lost none of the intimacy (or beauty) that makes them so intoxicating.”

We also had a chance to interview them while they were out.

Sim promised that night the band would be back very soon, and this morning it’s official. With a second album, Coexist, now under their arm, the trio will be playing dates in Perth, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

Tickets go on sale tomorrow at midday. You probably want to be quick.
