That
story that we did on the one-date
The Drones tour? Now comes a few more scintillating tidbits regarding their itinerary.
The band are only playing the one show in Australia because they jet off to the US in July. There they tour with Band of Horses as well as perform at the lauded ATP (All Tomorrow's Parties) festival in upstate New York that we were jazzed about here.
Which brings things full circle. Because the very 7-inch that The Drones are launching on the 14th May at the East Brunswick Club in Melbourne is of the "Custom Made" series out through ATP Recordings. It's "who" you know, friends.
Support to the show will be Joel Silbersher (God, Hoss, Tex Perkins). And in addition to our
item regarding East Brunswick's streets being lined with chorizo and balloons on the night of the band playing at the East Brunswick Club, comes further news that ATP have put up the cash to make it an open bar on the night, and that the band will follow the live performance with a DJ trance set in frontman Gareth Liddiard's living room. In a reversal befitting their image, envelopes containing the address of the party will be given to the
last 100 payers through the door. Novel.
