The Bumblebeez have had all their gear stolen, according to the Canberra Times

Thieves broke into main man Chris Colonna's studio in Braidwood, ACT sometime last Sunday. They made off with recording equipment, instruments and perhaps most importantly, computer hard drives containing music. Colonna estimates the theft could be worth up to $5000.

''That's the worst thing,'' Colonna said.''Equipment's equipment, but it's the actual songs. That's my currency. That's how you get your album advance, songs for TV, publishing, production work. It's hard to cop.''

It couldn't have come at a worse time for the band. They're slated to play Stonefest in Canberra this coming Friday, the Nevereverland tour in December and a New Years eve show in Newcastle. Which may prove difficult now considering the groups penchant for backing tracks in their live show, presumably which are now gone. They also posted a recent blog stating their intention to record and release one song every day in November. From their MySpace:

From November 1, The Bumblebeez main brain Chris Colonna AKA Invisibl AKA Prince Umberto, with the assistance of his sister Pia AKA ViLa and no doubt a ragtag bunch Braidwood’s best, will attempt to write from scratch and record a brand new jam for every day of the month, the fruits of which will be documented and made available daily for download at (INSERT WEBSITE?). These daily artefacts of rhythm and soul will also be prepared for use as mobile phone ringtones so you can assign a different Bumblebeez tone for all your friends in yourphonebook, and eventually the cream of the crop will see a release you can touch and feel on some very limited edition 7” vinyl.

Yikes. A NSW Police spokesman in Queanbeyan said police were investigating and urged any one with information or who was offered musical equipment to contact Braidwood Police Station or Crime Stoppers.

I say start trawling through Radiohead forums, detective.
