Catherine Kelleher is the frontchick of Sydney noise-pop proponents Kiosk. In the last year or so she's been developing tunes under the name of
Catcall, with some help from Melbourne beat-maker Crumbz. She's already played shows with the likes of The Gossip, Deerhoof, Buck 65, Architecture in Helsinki and Macromantics, which gives you a fair idea of the sort've fractured hip-pop world she orbits. Her debut EP
Anniversary has just been released, and from it comes the wonderful track and video for 'August'. It's a sort've loping, spooky jam that could be a cross between the cool haze of Mike Patton's
Peeping Tom project and the smoky drawl of
Bat For Lashes. The clever video for the song comes from production team
Moop Jaw (who have done clips for Macromantics, New Buffalo and Curse Ov Dialect amongst others), and follows various characters through a suburban street-scape, all tracked with in-camera rolls to match the nifty choreography. But it's still the song that makes it work. Watch below. And for now you can purchase the EP on her
myspace.

Cybele currently has an awesome show on display at Sydney's MTV gallery (4-16 Yurong St, East Sydney) which you should go to. It's called LOUDlight and is open until the 30th April, Wednesday to Saturday between 1 and 6pm. Have a look at her site for more details.)
