Ah TV. Good for recording stuff to put online.
Over the last few days there's been a glut of excellent music on TV. Sure, a bunch of it's on
American TV. But as this rock we call earth hurtles through space at frightening speeds, what with its bushfires, floods, and incredible opportunies to win cash "every hour, on the hour!", let's pause for a minute to thank our invisible network of "computers" for providing us with a glimpse of what hairstyle Thom Yorke currently sports.
Radiohead played the Grammy Awards telecast over the weekend. Despite eventually losing "Best Album" to Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, Thom Yorke and Johnny brought in some hired help to show the world what they need to be copying in three years. Ed, Phil and Colin weren't in attendance, but must at least feel a little bit chuffed to know that their replacements numbered 40+. Even if they were a shit hot sounding marching band.

Still at the Grammy's, a heavily pregnant
M.I.A fronted a hip-hop supergroup featuring
Kanye West,
Jay-Z,
Lil' Wayne and
T.I. You can nearly see the stage buckling under the egos around her. Still, pretty sweet first gig for her unborn.

Recent Australian visiters
TV On The Radio hit up Saturday Night Live for a couple of tunes from the universally slathered Dear Science. 'Golden Age' was the best of them. Via Videogum.
UPDATE: There were some problems with the sound on 'Golden Age' so here's 'Dancing Choose'.

Over at Letterman, the lovely Zach Condon and the one's who aren't Zach who call themselves
Beirut, played on Letteman. Condon has apparently gone "mexican funeral" for his next release, but here he plays the impossibly lovely 'Sunday Smile' from
The Flying Club Cup. Bonus rehearsal video included.
