Oliver Mann, he of the operatic voice and songs about flying park benches and tense jungle escapes, has returned from Europe and is touring Australia.
Oliver Mann spent his time wisely on his recent tour through Europe. In between singing in abandoned Italian church halls, shows at the Institute of Contemporary Arts in London and generally
impressing everyone with that thing that comes out of his chest and throat every time he opens his mouth, Mann found time to record a 7" with Andy Ramsay from Stereolab. The 7" inch track is called 'Tin Power' and was inspired by
this according to Mann's
Twitter.

The Juggs are back! We saw (a little bit of) them at Splendour and...they were alright. They need some new tunes. So they must've seen me climbing the tent pole with zinc swear words written all over my body telling them so, because they've gone and recorded a bunch of them, in what they call in industry parlance "an album". The first single from such a thing is called 'This New Technology', and will be the first snapshot of their partnership with US producer Christopher Moore (Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Liars, TV On The Radio) down at Sing Sing studios opposite the BP service station in Melbourne. The band are set to air a bunch of new tracks from their long awaited follow up to their mega-breakthrough
Dystopia.

Evelyn Morris may be a scene-stealing hardcore drummer for the likes of Baseball, True Radical Miracle and...Bachelorette...but she's just as comfortable (and mesmerising) whence performing her solo material under the
Pikelet moniker. If not more so. Other people seem to be catching on; her sweet take on shape-shifting folk-pop has now supported the likes of Sufjan Stevens, Darren Hanlon and Goldfrapp.
Indeed Morris has been overseas for the last four months touring as both Pikelet and as a member of NZ's Bachelorette. She's back now with a new round of star-studded supports to rack up, as well as a date at Melbourne label Chapter Music's mini-festival on September 19th.
