So after that whole "guitar good v hip-hop bad" controversy that culminated in Jay-Z beginning his Glastonbury set at the weekend with a cover of Oasis' 'Wonderwall', the two protagonists have been unusually quiet on the affair. Not so the public.

According to the NME, sales of the 1995 'Wonderwall' single have gone through the roof since the concert spectacle and the track will re-enter the UK top 100 charts. Says the article: "Furthermore, the album it appears on, (What's The Story) Morning Glory) has experienced a 200 per-cent increase in sales since the Brooklyn rapper's Saturday night headline performance."

Jay-Z's '99 Problems', the song he followed 'Wonderwall' with - and more tellingly, the song also in the YouTube link going round - ain't doing so bad either. "Jay-Z himself has also received a boost to record sales. BBC News reports that his 2004 single '99 Problems' is also set for a return to the charts this weekend."

The infamous Noel Gallagher-quoting intro reel clip used by Jay-Z before he came onstage has also been posted online. It didn't appear in any of the live clips because apparently the BBC couldn't get clearance for the spliced up footage featuring celebrities, politicians and news clips. Dolts. Put next to the performance itself you get a powerful sense of the occasion. I wonder if Kate Winslet's a fan.
