Weezer have unveiled the album artwork for their forthcoming record Hurley. It's a picture of Hurley. From Lost. You idiot.

Frontman Rivers Cuomo told Pitchfork: "We just wanted to use that picture of Jorge Garcia's face on the cover. It's such an amazing album cover, and we didn't want to have any other words on it, so we just figured everyone was going to call it Hurley, so that's what we call it." A good name would also be Megalomania.

New York electronic artist Matthew Dear has a new album out this weekend called Black City and it's fantastic and addictive and weird and a series of other adjectives and expletives. As one of us possibly tweeted, it's: "As if James Murphy took ketamine and produced Bowie covering Amnesiac." Or Liars pretending to be Hot Chip. Or something. Here's some stuff:

He recently told Adelaide mag Onion that he should be out to Australia in 2011:

“I’d love to tour Australia in 2011. Depends if we can get the band there, it’s a hefty flight for four gentlemen but if we can make it work feasibly and people can buy us canned food and bring us McDonald’s just to feed us as we go along, I think we can do it. I should add that I am quite into food and not into McDonald’s and Australia offers very, very good cuisine and I’ve had some amazing meals in Australia, so you can bring me grass-fed beef as well.”

Melbourne kids Cut Copy played at the Lollapalooza festival in Chicago over the weekend, where they debuted another new song from their forthcoming follow up to In Ghost Colours. It's called 'Blink And You'll Miss The Revolution' and - according to Hipster Runoff - ushers in the era of 'business casual':

Thom Yorke played a solo set at the Big Chill festival in the UK over the weekend, and performed a new Radiohead song. Yorke has performed 'Give Up The Ghost' solo before but until now has never mentioned whether it would be a fully fledged Radiohead song. I know, right?

In an interview with Pitchfork a few weeks back, Radiohead drummer Phil Selway said of the current Radiohead recording sessions: “We’re still writing – we’re slap dab in that middle of it”.If it's anything like the recording sessions for Kid A, as documented here by guitarist Ed O'Brien, chances are it's a sloooow process. Still, rumour is that the ensuing LP will be out before the end of the year.
