Operatically inclined Melbourne folk singer
Oliver Mann has a new single from his forthcoming third album out, this time featuring Melbourne's mysterious E-Wah Lady. The track comes with a noir-ish clip, featuring Mann in detective guise and E-Wah Lady as a singing locket. Business as usual for Mann then.
The singer is about to embark on his maiden tour of Japan. Here's his poster for the tour, because it is awesome:

Perth metal guy Matthew Leonard Rowe (ex-Anime Fire) has released a free five-tracker under his
Leviathan of the Sea moniker and it's pretty damn epic. And what metal act doesn't come with a good manifesto. Rowe claims that the release is "as much a solo musical endeavour as it is a provocative philosophical platform", as well as "taking issue with the modern music industry, the lack of serious subject matter in heavy music (and the way it is typically produced) along with the rising attack on Science and Reason." It also just sounds good.
More:
Featuring audio samples by Carl Sagan and Christopher Hitchens, the EP is a thought provoking polemic. Commenting on the EP's content, Matthew Leonard Rowe adds, "The motivations for the record are what is most important to me. Authors such as Christopher Hitchens, Carl Sagan, Michio Kaku and Noam Chomsky have had a profound affect on my life and manner of thinking. I sincerely believe that these voices of reason need to be heard, and their advice heeded if we wish to consider ourselves members of a tenable species and reach our potential as the poorly evolved mammalian primates that we are."
Choosing to issue the EP for free (as both a stream and as a download), Rowe wishes to put LOTS in front of as many listeners as possible - to popularise the music and its messages adding, "LOTS is a small part of a push back against the forces that wish to stultify education, institute a bronze age version of morality, practice abject unjustified authority and install theocracy. Those who consider the enlightenment, Science and Reason as the pinnacles of human achievement, will hopefully find solace in an idea such as LOTS."
The EP was produced by Tue Madsen (The Haunted, Sick of it All, August Burns Red) and allegedly has "no sound replacement, no beat locking, no programming- nothing done to change the sounds that were created live off of the floor." In which case it's pretty damn epic. Rowe plans to keep releasing new music for free every 18 months.
Here's the second track 'Bad Blood.

Wagons are on tour in the USA. Here's a bunch of footage of them drinking tea, being stuck in traffic and mugging in airports.

God knows why it takes 12 Brisbane-ites to slavishly recreate Merseybeat but
Velociraptor have crammed them all in their clip for 'Sleep With The Fishes'. The track comes from their
5-track EP and they're on tour through September.

Also from Brisbane are
Tiny Spiders, a two-piece featuring Innez Tulloch (Feathers, Pastel Blaze) on guitar and Cam Smith (Ghost Notes, St Augustus) on drums. Smith also runs Incremental Records (above which this clip was shot) where he's been responsible for recordings for DZ, No Anchor, the aforementioned Velociraptor, Dune Rats, Millions, Loomer, Nikko and more. All of which should give you a fair idea of Tiny Spiders' sound: crunchy guitar buzz projected onto trashy but tasteful indie-rock drums. The likes of which provide a nice contrast to their clear, often dual vocals.
