A week before its release Oasis have gone and put their new record on MySpace in its entirety.
Dig Out Your Soul is the bands seventh album and suggested by songwriter Noel Gallagher to be more "groove" focused. "We've been focusing round the grooves more this time", he said. "The last album was quite 'songy,' if that makes any sense." Well more than Liam, who kept it succinct regarding the LP's overarching themes, light and shade and narrative drive, with: "This record's gonna be fuckin' rockin."
From a first listen through they're not wrong. The first half of the record concerns itself up with thick, distorted, arena ready hooks. In fact the acoustic doesn't pop up until the Liam penned song - and surprisingly, sweet highlight - 'I'm Outta Time'. 'Get off Your High Horse Lady' is a western tinged 'Come Together'-esque stomp and 'To Be Where There's Life' even breaks out the sitar.
