The catwalk-bothering Portland label Italians Do It Better has released a couple of new tracks (below) from Glass Candy, aka Ida No and label founder / knob-twiddler Johnny Jewel.

Together they form a double A-side single for which there was a (no doubt achingly well-dressed) release party last night in LA. These tracks, "Warm In The Winter" and "Beautiful Object" form our first glimpse at their upcoming new album Body Work, the follow-up to 2008's Deep Gems. Fans of new wave Italo-disco with a hint of Nico, rejoice.

It must have been a busy night for Johnny Jewel as label-mates Chromatics were also in attendance and he's a member of that band too. Hasty costume changes and Big Business style split-screen all round - hoorah! In fact both bands are currently touring the West Coast together, including today's FYF Fest in Portland, Oregon, alongside the likes of Four Tet, Yacht, Death From Above 1979 and Descendents.

The Warm In The Winter EP will be available on tasty-coloured vinyl soon or the slightly more drab iTunes now.

Big love to GvB for alerting me to this cheering news. Mwah!
