What can we call Muscles? Enigmatic? Yes, we’ll go with something as wishy-washy as enigmatic. He’s a funny character but it seems that all is back on track. He has muted his raving blogasms to prepare for a new album.
Last Christmas he had a mini battle with his label, Modular, over his appearance and subsequent non-appearance on their Neverland show. This year he will appear at the Modular Xmas party at the Espy in St Kilda alongside Tame Impala, Bang Gang DJs, VCanyons and more. He’ll also do a live set on New Year’s at Sydney’s Cargo Bar, and will play another show at Victoria’s Solar Festival on January 3.
So Muscles is letting bygones be themselves and is reportedly “blessed” and “excited” about Modular and his future. There’s a new album slated for March next year, to follow up his breakthrough debut
Guns Babes Lemonade. He told
100% magazine that he’s been beavering away on it all year, saying that he’s grown as an artist and that he’ll be more playful and relaxed.
Whatever he's on seems to be working. His previously controversial
blog is now just a list of “official” links, a YouTube and a bunch of international reviews. His
twitter is positively beaming with happy vibes. He’s even listed as ‘love struck’ on his myspace and “so in love right now” on twitter.
We predict something particularly special from electro’s favourite enigma by the end of summer.
