The rumours are true. New York duo MGMT - who have enjoyed a worldwide explosion in popularity since the release of their debut Oracular Spectacular - are on their way to Australia.

The band touches down in early December to play four club shows. With all shows being (traditionally) the week before the annual Meredith Music Festival, one comes to the conclusion that it's probably not true so you shouldn't worry about getting tickets or going in the ballot and taking up precious space so why even try we'll let you know.

While we're unashamed fans of Oracular Spectacular, the clips we've seen online of the band playing live are less than promising. It's not stopping them draw record breaking crowds though. And considering they've been touring the world solidly for the past year, at least they'll be well prepared by the time December rolls around.
