If you were planning on getting dusty, grubby, hot and possibly soaked beyond belief down at Meredith this year but haven’t done anything about yet, best make other plans. Festival organisers have just announced that the 18th Meredith Music Festival has sold out in record time.

While most of the tickets were allocated via a ballot system open to subscribers in advance, the festival’s remaining passes were snapped up at record stores and online in a matter of minutes.

It’s little wonder. Aside from the famed Victorian festival’s communal atmosphere and surrounds, this year’s line-up is a cracker.

For those who missed out, read ‘em and weep: Holy Fuck, Little Red, MGMT, Saul Williams, Man Man, The Bronx, Muscles, Final Fantasy, Tame Impala, Beaches, The Mountain Goats, Ten East, The Ruby Suns, Black Diamond Heavies, Combo La Revelacion, Yacht Club DJs, Grand Salvo, Adam Green, The Datsuns, Architecture in Helsinki and Regurgitator, with more still to be announced.

Come on, no tears. We’ve still got the Meredith’s sister festival Golden Plains to look forward to next March. Watch this space for line-up announcements and ticketing info.
