Making really twisted music videos seems to have been something of a trend in 2010. There was Of Montreal’s cannibal free-for-all ‘Coquet Coquette’. There was HEALTH’s virtually unwatchable castration rape revenge fantasy ‘We are Water’. There was Salem’s necro pig suicide video for ‘Piggyhog’. There was Yeasayer's heartbreaking weird pet story for 'Madder Red'. And most disturbing of all, there was Slash getting tied to a bed and straddled by Fergie to a song that lifts the chorus melody from ‘Total Eclipse of the Heart’. Ewwww.
But now
Klaxons have raised the bar further with a video that would probably give Chris Cunningham scary dreams. For their new single ‘Twin Flames’, they’ve released what appears to be an oiled-up porno adaption of
The Human Centipede, or maybe
Naked Lunch, or something. The band set what has to be some sort of YouTube record yesterday morning by getting the original version of this video pulled off (ahem) within minutes due to it violating the site’s “policy on nudity or sexual content”. It was quickly replaced by the version below, which suggests the band might just have seen that difficulty coming. Watch, and you'll see why.
Here’s the less wrong version – if anyone can find the
really fucked-up version online somewhere, do let us know (but in the meantime, for god’s sake please don’t watch this one at work – it’s still epic NSFW territory).
(Yet another edit - watch the video
here.).

And for the record, here are the videos we mentioned above – don’t watch any of these at work, either. Or at all if you’re easily disturbed. Particularly the HEALTH one. Good god.
