I'm pretty sure Kanye West's single 'Champion' is about the trials of growing up poor and searching for role models. But chin up, the Olympics are on!

West's new video features a muppet-like caricature of himself participating in athletics alongside humans. That's about it. West is like the kid on cordial at the shopping centre, if he sees something new he just HAS TO HAVE IT. Ergo, the Olympics are on. People watch them. Let's reframe the song to it's base element (its title) strip it of pathos like "I don't know I just wanted better for my kids, and I ain't sayin' we was from the projects, but every time i wanted layaway or a deposit, my Dad'll say "When you see clothes, close your eyelids" and shift some units in this busy time.

I guess we're just lucky Moomba wasn't on.

UPDATE: Video removed at label request. You can watch it over on the man's own blog however.
