Jack White has announced details of his debut solo album. Despite collectively releasing dozens of records with the White Stripes, The Raconteurs and Dead Weather over the years, as well as collaborations with Danger Mouse, Electric Six, Loretta Lyn, Alicia Keys and,
of course, Insane Clown Posse, White has never released a solo record under his own name.
The album, dubbed
Blunderbuss, will come out April 24 on White's own Third Man Records. First single 'Love Interruption' will be released on vinyl on February 7th, but you can hear it now below:
White says via a press release: "[
Blunderbuss is] an album I couldn't have released until now. I've put off making records under my own name for a long time but these songs feel like they could only be presented under my name. These songs were written from scratch, had nothing to do with anyone or anything else but my own expression, my own colors on my own canvas."
Which seems disingenuous since there's a female vocal on 'Love Interruption', but...keep an eye on his
new website for more.
