Damon Albarn's cartoon pop outfit Gorillaz are finally making their way to Australia in full band mode.

After a brief stint fussing himself with that
other band Blur, Albarn has been busy with Gorillaz this year on the back of
new album Plastic Beach. The band recently headlined the Coachella Festival in the US as well as stepping in to replace the injured U2 at Glastonbury this year.
Punters - at least the few that were there - will remember the shoddy debut of Gorillaz Soundsystem two years ago at the ill-fated Global Gathering festival. What sounded promising on paper was in fact "a variety of guests singing over Gorillaz backing tracks", according to our
Vine review. No such problems this time around with the full band slated to appear in Australia. Still, promoters Chugg Entertainment still aren't quite sure who exactly that will be, saying: "With headline performances so far this year featuring appearances from the full Gorillaz entourage including Bashy, De La Soul, Mick Jones & Paul Simonon (The Clash), Kano, Little Dragon, Mos Def, National Orchestra for Arabic Music, Gruff Rhys, Shaun Ryder and Bobby Womack, we can’t wait to see who’ll be making the journey to Australia…"
They do go on to say that the bands unique multimedia experience will be in full affect, and that "this landmark arena tour will include a dynamic production featuring multi-media video animation, artwork and film."
