Danish director Martin de Thurah makes enigmatic, incredibly cinematic, performance videos that occupy the same darkly surreal surburban landscape as photographer Gregory Crewdson; capturing the twisted reality of a vivid dream.

In other words, he's the perfect man to direct Fever Ray's 'When I Grow Up', the dream-like second solo single from The Knife's Karin Dreijer Andersson.

A mystery wrapped up in a music video, Karin seems to be channelling Jodie Foster's Nell character here (see below), or a character from the magically minded king of Japanimation, Hayao Miyazaki (de Thurah started out as a painter himself, maybe even lived in the woods, raised by wolves...*).
