A fine selection of Australian music will be mingling with the likes of the lion, crocodile and quokka this February at Melbourne Zoo.
Yep. Melbourne Zoo might not be the usual setting for the likes of Resin Dogs, Wolf and Cub, and Tame Impala, but with name's like that it's a wonder they haven't yet been to the Zoo for the obligatory "namesake" photo shoot. Dubbed "Roar Sounds", Melbourne Zoo is hosting a series of shows that also includes entry to the animal exhibits themselves. And somehow, the whole thing is BYO! As they say, there's nothing that can't be fixed by a summer's evening with beers, good music and trapdoor spiders the size of a baby's head. Points for organisers actually using the word "tinnies" in the press release.
The event kicks off this tomorrow night. Here's the ensuing lineups and details.
Thursday 5 February - Kate Miller Heidke (QLD) + The Verses
Thursday 12 February - Wolf & Cub (SA) + Van She (NSW)
Thursday 19 February – Eddy Current Suppression Ring + Tame Impala
Thursday 26 February - Resin Dogs (QLD) Feat. N’fa (1200 Techniques) + Phrase + Alexx The Kidd
