Crystal Castles Australian tour in doubt
--
Hot off the heels of the Black Keys Australian tour cancellation comes dramatic news of another Big Day Out artist in doubt.
Last night, TheVine connected with Ethan Kath of the Canadian electronic act Crystal Castles, who are set to appear on the Big Day Out tour, beginning tomorrow (Friday) in Auckland. From a hospital in Tokyo, where the band played the night before, Kath revealed some information which may yet put their Australian shows in jeopardy: singer Alice Glass appears to have a broken ankle, cause unspecified.
The Vine: How was your day in Tokyo?
Ethan: A little bit stressful.
Why’s that?
Because Alice is injured.
What happened?
We’re at the hospital, having x-rays taken. It appears that she has a broken ankle.
Oh shit. What will that mean for the Australian tour?
I don’t know. Maybe she’ll be doing it in a wheelchair. I’m not sure.
So this happened at last night’s show?
No, it happened earlier.
So to clarify, this is not going to affect your Australian tour?
I don’t know. This is sort of a bad time to ask right now.
