Coldplay have announced the tracklist and details of their new album, the follow up to the bazillion selling X&Y.  Bearing the Bright Eyes-esque title Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends, the newie hits stores/radio/itunes/mobiles/TV ads/billboards/cinemas/shopping centres/sporting arenas/lifts/waiting rooms/torrents/the afterlife on June 14.

According to Rolling Stone the band have been encouraged to experiment by producer Brian Eno, resulting in a record with a much wider, more experimental sonic palette than previously heard from the band. The most obvious change being Chris Martin's decision to shy away from his trademark falsetto and attempt several songs in a lower register. As well as an apparent flavour-of-the-month 'Afro Pop' influence on a couple of tracks. Which they might hope dislodges then from being the 'band most people like to fall asleep to'. Officially.

I don't really understand why bands announce tracklists. They might as well announce a list of chords they used. Actually that would probably be more helpful.
