As the race for the US Democratic Presidential Candidate heats up a multitude of musicians are throwing their support behind the nominees. The "quality" of musicians choosing sides speaks volumes. In the Hilary Clinton camp we have wheezing dinosaurs like Madonna and Bon Jovi. Whereas behind the "change" vote for Barack Obama we have the relative newbies of Bright Eyes, M Ward and Arcade Fire. Who, as you can see in the pic above from the Melbourne Big Day Out, kids go nuts for.

The music sphere already devoted precious political column inches to the Arcade Fire back in February, when they played two small and exclusive shows for the Obama faithful in Cleveland, Ohio, just before the early March round of primaries. Which Clinton won. Oops. Undeterred, the band are back on the campaign trail for Obama with speculation that they're going to play a couple of shows at an "early-voting rally" in the town of Carrboro, North Carolina on May 2nd. And as a bonus for the old-school fans, according to a post on the Arcade Fire's official site they may just be joined by indie-legends, locals and Merge Record bosses SUPERCHUNK.

I wanted to find a quote about Obama working the town by going 'Driveway to Driveway' to put in here but no dice. Instead here's a clip of Arcade Fire playing a cover of David Bowie's 'Heroes' at the Cleveland show:
